OPM3 Organizational Project Management Maturity Model

The
Project Management Institute (PMI®) developed a reference model about the way to manage all types of project. This model is detailed in the referential:
Organizational Project Management Maturity Model (OPM3®).
It is a structured group of best practices intended to assess, evaluate and improve the activities of an organization responsible to control portfolio, program and project management.
The OPM3 model allows the identification of the organization’s position on a continuum of organizational project management maturity, as described below:
- Level 1 : Standardize
according to the study The Value of Project Management (PMI 2008), approximately 50% of the organizations reached this level of maturity
- Level 2 : Measure
47% of organizations in this study reached this level
- Level 3 : Control
only 3% of organizations in this study reached this level
- Level 4 : Continuous improvement
